Hello from Sarah

I am the founder of Young Hearts Play Therapy, and I believe every child and young person deserves to feel understood and valued for who they are. I provide a service designed to make a genuine difference, supporting both children and the families around them.

I am a BAPT-accredited Play Therapist and BACP member with over ten years’ experience as a teacher and SENCo. I offer tailored, evidence-based, child-led play therapy. Sessions provide a safe, creative space for children and young people to explore their thoughts and feelings, build confidence, and make sense of their experiences.

I work closely with parents and carers to ensure a holistic approach, offering guidance and support alongside therapy.

My goal is to help children feel empowered and families feel supported.

Who I work with

I work with children and young people facing a range of difficulties, including:

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Anger

  • Attachment issues

  • Grief and loss

  • Peer conflicts

  • Family changes

  • Self-harm

  • Low self-esteem

  • Chronic illness

Neurodiversity and Emotional Support
I also work with children and young people on the autism spectrum, with ADHD, and other neurodiverse needs. This includes support through the assessment and diagnostic process, helping children manage emotions, build regulation skills, and cope with overwhelm or burnout.

Trauma-Informed Support
I work in a trauma-informed way and can support children who have experienced traumatic life events, whether recently or in the past.

Therapy is tailored to each child’s strengths and needs.

What is

play therapy?

Child-Centered play therapy helps children and young people express their thoughts and feelings in a safe, supportive space.

When words are difficult, play offers a natural way to process emotions and life experiences. I provide a warm, welcoming environment where children can explore at their own pace, using talking, toys, games, or creative activities.
